Fizzy Heart Activity

This fun little science activity is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your little ones. It requires a little bit of prep before you start, but it’s worth it to see your child’s face light up.

supplies

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • water
  • food coloring
  • heart mold
  • vinegar
  • liquid dropper
  • tray or plate

Directions

  1. Put baking soda in a bowl and slowly add water until a thick consistency. Wisk together.
  2. Add a few drops of red or pink food coloring.
  3. Pour into a mold
  4. Place in freezer overnight.
  5. Pop out of mold.
  6. Give your child vinegar and a liquid dropper to make it fizz.
