Apple Pie Counting Recipe Activity

Apple Pie Counting Recipe Activity

Since apple picking season is upon us, I created a simple and easy way to incorporate a little learning in a sensory bin. I used this activity in my Exploring Through Play program and it was a hit. As a subscriber to my website you will get access to this free print out. I simply printed and laminate each recipe card so I can use them over and over again. This is a great way to teach your young toddler how to count and help an older child learn how to read a recipe card as well.

What you need:

  • shallow bin (with lid so you can reuse the activity throughout the fall)
  • oats
  • red pom poms as the apples
  • tan felt cut into strips and circles
  • cinnamon sticks
  • dollar store measuring cups/spoons
  • mini pie tins
  • my free recipe cards (subscribe below to get them)
