Movement Zone

Movement Zone

Over the winter, my husband and I set up a movement zone in our unfinished basement. We live in RI and our winters can get pretty cold and the weather is very unpredictable. Which means getting outside isn’t always possible or even enjoyable. This movement zone saved all of our sanity this past winter and will be great for rainy or super humid days in the summer. All kids need to move their bodies and sometimes it can be dangerous or impossible to do so in the house. We are fortunate enough to have a basement to create this space, but smaller spaces can work to with a little creativity. Check out my YouTube video below to see all of the details.

Movement Zone Must Have Ideas:

  • soft flooring
  • mini trampoline
  • gymnastics bar
  • foam pad
  • basketball hoop
  • foam blocks
  • climbing tube
  • swing
  • cones
  • floor markers
