My baby is now a toddler, which means I have a one year old and a two year old.  AHH!  So much craziness over here!  Since Abigail was born two days before Halloween (fun fact, we actually have the same birthday!), we wanted to do a theme that could also be made into a Halloween costume.  Wizard of Oz made the cut; Abby was Dorothy, Lilly was Tinwomen, Scott was Scarecrow, and I was the Lion.

Unfortunately the weather was rainy, but we didn’t let that ruin the party.  My husband still took the kids around the house in his tracker while we acted out the movie.  We all had a great time, especially the birthday girl!  Below are some of the photos from the party.

This is the invitation we sent out!  I absolutely loved it and can be purchased here.

My husband made the Emerald City centerpiece with paper towel and toilet paper rolls that he spray painted with a metallic silver first coat and a kelly green glitter top coat.

These giant red poppies were my favorite part of the party.  I used this tutorial, but we ran out of time to attach them to dowels so instead we hung them on the wall.  I actually liked it better this way!

This was my first time attempting to make a naked cake and it came out better than I expected.  I originally was going to make the flowers out of frosting, but they were sooo much harder than I thought!  So instead I bought red roses since poppies aren’t in season right now.  I think the cake looks better with fresh flowers anyway!  The cake topper can be found here, I actually used these for my wedding table numbers!

Cupcakes are so trendy right now and I love making them.  Especially when you can dress them up.  I wanted to make a simple, easy look and rather than spending $15 on 12 cupcake toppers I made my own.  I bought these red pompoms and stuck a toothpick in them.  So easy and yet they looked great!

The cake and cupcakes were dairy free and delicious! The recipe can be found here if you ever want to try them out.

These were the favors we gave out at the end of the party.  It had flash cards to exercise your brain, heart stickers, and a metal for courage.  I ended up finding the hot air balloon cards from the Dollar store.  Such a cute way to end the party!
