It’s hard to believe St. Patrick’s Day is almost here.  Since I am half Irish, I have always celebrated St. Patrick’s Day.  Now that I have kids, I like to get creative and make fun crafts with them.  Below are some ideas you can make with your kids.  Have Fun!!

I mentioned in one of my last posts that I bought this lucite organizer to easily organize our craft materials.  I have been changing it out for every new holiday or season and keep it stocked and ready to go.  You never know when you might need to craft!

Pot-o-Gold Craft

This craft requires a little adult help, but it is really fun and educational for the kids.  It’s a great opportunity to teach them about the colors of the rainbow.

Materials Needed

Directions

  1. Fold yellow construction paper in half and cut out a pot shape.
  2. Add a slight bend to the pipe cleaners and glue to the black construction paper.
  3. Glue yellow pot to the black paper and cover the bottom of the pipe cleaners.
  4. Pull apart cotton balls to mimic clouds and glue to the top of the pipe cleaners.
  5. Glue chocolate coins on top of the pot.
  6. Sprinkle gold glitter on the wet glue and in the clouds.

Leprechaun Hat Craft

I’m not sure who had more fun with this craft, me or my toddler?!? This is a three part craft since there will be drying time required.  I glued the popsicle sticks together to form a hat, let it dry overnight and then my daughter painted it green the next day.  I got the original idea from this blog, but we added a little flare!  You can get as creative as you want.

Materials Needed

Directions

  1. Line up 8 popsicle sticks vertically and glue 3 horizontal sticks at the bottom to hold the hat together.  Let dry.
  2. Paint hat green. Let dry.
  3. Cut black construction into a thin strip, the same length as the hat.  Glue right above the brim of the hat.
  4. Cut a yellow square and a black square a little smaller.  Glue to the black strip.
  5. Add sequins, pom poms, glitter, and whatever else you would like!

Shamrock Craft

This is a really easy craft and you can get as creative as you want.  My daughter even added some gold glitter to hers.  I also used this as a way to teach small vs. big.

Materials Needed

Directions

  1. Fold green construction paper in half and cut 4 big and 4 small heart shapes.
  2. Glue hearts to yellow paper to form shamrocks.
  3. Glue sequins, pom poms, glitter, etc.
