I love this time of year, especially now that I have children! My oldest is going to be 2-1/2 at the end of the month and she is really getting into Santa and Elf on the Shelf. We are starting to form our own family traditions and every year seems to get more and more exciting.
The best part of all is shopping for the kid’s gifts, but who wants to wait in those long lines when you can do it all online?!? Below are some of the toys I have gotten or will be getting for my girls. They are some great gift ideas if you are shopping for babies and toddlers.
I also tried to use this non-toxic holiday gift guide when deciding. Although I was disappointed to find out Melissa and Doug is under the “sneaky stuff” since it is made in China, I do still plan on buying some of their toys because it is more affordable than most of the other wooden toys. I tend to stay away from plastic toys in general because they are very toxic (some companies, like Green Toys, are less toxic than others) and bad for the environment. Hape is another company that is listed under the “good stuff” and more affordable than some of the other “best stuff” companies. Their products are assembled in China, but the original parts come from Germany and regulated by the European Standards. Europe has much higher standards when it comes to consumer products and they do not allow nearly as many chemicals compared to the USA standards.
